For your livestream, you can set in advance that what is said is automatically displayed as subtitles.* This makes your livestream more accessible, as it becomes barrier-free for the hearing impaired and people can follow the content even without audio.
To activate automatic subtitles in your livestream, first create a new livestream by clicking on “Add a livestream” under LIVESTREAMS and configuring the pre-settings.
Once you have completed the pre-settings, you can now activate subtitles under the “Outputs” tab by clicking on “Add audio tracks and subtitles”.
In the window that opens, you can “Add a track” under Subtitles tracks. Select the language of the subtitles from a drop-down menu. Then click on “Add Output” at the bottom.
If you want to add more subtitles in other languages, you can do so using the “Edit” button.
Once you have activated a subtitle or audio track, you can change some settings under the “Transcriber” tab by clicking on “Edit” there.
Here you can select the recognition engine (either our own or Amazon's), change the input language, and add a Vocabulary to improve recognition. You can also activate the “Live Subtitle Editor,” which allows you to edit subtitles in a live environment.
In the stream, viewers can then activate the subtitles in the lower right corner using the “CC” button:
* The cost of generating subtitles depends on the subscription you have selected and is either included in it or billed monthly afterwards. The total length of the video is always used as the basis.
