To start a Dialog session, you need to create a room and share it with the participants. This article explains how to do that.
On the SPEECH DIALOG homepage, click “New room.”
In the window that opens, give the room a name and select the listening languages participants can choose from. If you leave the field blank, they can choose from all available languages. You can also select a previously created “Vocabulary” to improve speech recognition. Finally, click “Create a room.”
The new room will now appear on the homepage:
In the room, you can adjust the room settings (name, translation languages, dictionary, and deleting the room) at any time by clicking “Edit room” in the top-right corner. To the left of that, you can also change your own language.
In the bottom right under “Participants,” you’ll see the participants who are already in the room. You can invite people to the Dialog session by sharing the link or QR code below with them.
When you’re ready to start the dialogue, click “Start transmission.” The audio recording will then begin, and participants will hear the translation in their own language.
This is what the interface will look like for you during the session:
On the left, you'll see the “Live transcript” in the original language. On the right are the “Participants” and the language they speak. And at the top, you can see that you're currently speaking (the waveform spikes as soon as an audio signal is received). In the top-right corner, you can stop your audio transmission by clicking “Stop transmission.”
