If you already have an existing dictionary in a file, you can easily import it into Video.Taxi and use it (more on that here). The same applies to the glossary—that is, the translations of individual entries. This is especially useful if you want to import and translate a large number of entries at once.
When creating or updating the dictionary, you can upload the file as a CSV file under “Replace with File.”
To ensure the system can import the entries correctly, they must be formatted as follows in a CSV file. All data goes into a single column (here “A”) and is separated by commas (without spaces). In the first row as a header: “Phrase (language code (e.g., ‘de’)), alternative pronunciation (optional), en (or any other translation language code)”.
If an entry is not supposed to have a translation (e.g., for names), you can simply enter it individually (for example, the entry “Peter” here).
If you’re unsure about the format—especially the language codes—you can simply create a dictionary and translate a single word there. If you then download the dictionary as a .CSV file via the “Actions” menu on the right, you’ll have a file in the correct format. You can now easily add the remaining entries to this file and then upload them all together as described above.
